On Wednesday morning, Economics teacher Bryan Wallace and school Social Worker Stephanie Schuette were announced as the Teacher of the Year and Professional of the Year for 2016-2017.

If he so chooses, Wallace has the opportunity to move on to the Northwest Learning Community pool and compete with other Teachers of the Year from around Fulton County.

Wallace and Schuette were chosen after undergoing a rigorous selection process.

Wallace was nominated by his colleagues, and he was chosen based on a video of his classroom experience and an interview with the teacher of the year selection committee.

Schuette was selected through a popular vote by the staff.

Assistant Principal Jennifer Beard said the committee looked for a candidate with “strong pedagogy, who collaborates well with their colleagues, is a leader in the school, and impacts the community.”
