BREAKING NEWS: Inaugural Senior Field Trip Cancelled

Principal Ashley Agans announced via Teams Thursday morning that the senior field trip to Stone Mountain on April 27 has been cancelled.

Approximately 44 seniors had signed up as of Tuesday. However, the number would have had to reach 200 by the end of Wednesday, when payment was due, in order to make the trip possible.

The cost of attending totaled $55, which included entrance into the park, food, and transportation. After returning from spring break, this amount will be refunded to students’ credit cards who have already submitted their payment in OSP.

She said the trip would be an opportunity for seniors to socialize with friends, have fun and relax, but the number of participants did not match those needed.

“We are only at 53 seniors signed up for the trip. Based on those numbers, we can’t make the trip work,” she said.

At the end of her announcement, she said she’s “so sorry this did not work out.”
