The Bears storm the field before kickoff

Cheers were shouted, flour was thrown and bodies were painted as the Milton Eagles traveled to the school’s campus to take on the Cambridge Bears.

The teams battled back and forth in the first half, with Milton holding a 10-0 lead over the Bears at halftime.

About halfway through the third quarter, running back Matthew McCree dove into the end zone to get Cambridge on the board.

The score was then 17-6 after a failed two-point conversion by the Bears.

After a hard-fought battle on both sides, Milton reigned victorious with a 24-6 victory and bragging rights over Cambridge until next year’s matchup.

Outside linebacker James Poinsette finished with a great game of 13 total tackles and two tackles, one of the bright spots in the midst of the school’s defeat.

The team will begin region play when they travel to Chattahoochee on Friday.
