Chorus Broadcasted on NBC Singing for NASCAR

On Sunday, the school’s chorus sang “God Bless America” at Talladega Superspeedway and was broadcasted on NBC.

NASCAR reached out to Fulton County and other counties that represented the best of music education in the spring.

“Our chorus students are really hungry for just new oppportunites outside of the box, opportunites where people get to notice them, and this is a prime example of that,” said chorus teacher Matthew Van Dyke.

Chorus student Natalie Bolton, a junior, said she was nervous but that the performance was fun, although hot.

Van Dyke is grateful to Fulton County Schools for financially aiding the chorus with transportation.
